Bees and Projects

ABOVE: A robust bumble bee (Genus Bombus) on one of the Sunflower Trees (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray).

BELOW: A dying bumble bee. . .notice he has lost his bright colors. I watched as he repeatedly fell over. . . but kept trying to drink from the Tithonia.

BELOW: Another bumble bee on Tithonia. The bees are intoxicated by this flower. I can get very close without fear of being stung.

ABOVE: One of the last tall sunflower (Helianthus annus) of 2009 is half open this morning. This one is about 6-feet tall. I will not replant until late February as the daylight is now scarce.

BELOW: Another one of the aggravating projects I've been working on. I managed to finally fix this leak and replace all the pipes in the laundry in Deltona. The previous hoses had fused with the spigots coming from the wall. . . and rusted. . . and leaked. It was a huge mess. I first attempted to fix this on Sept. 2. I finished yesterday (November 22). I had to walk away, a lot.

I did a load of laundry and dried it. It all works fine, again. YEAH! I am generally no good with home renovation projects. I'd much rather be doing something artistic.
