Four Birds Sharing a Rock

The bird at left is an Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga). He appears a little annoyed to be sharing his prime rock spot with a little Snowy Egret (Egretta thula). These images are spectacular when blown up to their actual size. It was some luck on my part to capture such clear images.

A little further to the left of the top image stood a Great Egret (Ardea alba) who appeared unimpressed with the arrival of a Little Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea).

This image appears as if I painted in the Little Blue Heron. I did not.

To see the full-sized image, from the blog click on the image.

All of the rock-sharing birds are pictured above. Left to right they are: Great Egret, Little Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, and Ahninga.
