Venus' Looking-glass

I never blogged this species before. She is Venus' Looking-glass or Triodanis perfoliata (L.) Nieuwland. I walked through a field of these today while searching for some seeds in the woods. Its really delicate and whimsical. They range across North America. . .but I've rarely encountered them in large numbers in Florida.

This species is in the Bellflower family -- Campanulaceae.

It was hot and breezy today. Kind of miserable weather for me. I was in jungle suit (jacket, jeans, hat) which made it feel hotter still.
