Sunflower Art
I've been playing around with some of the cameras making sunflower art. ABOVE: A nice shot, I think.
ABOVE: Can you feel the heat? It was 97 F. (36 C.) in the shade this afternoon when I made this image about 7:00 pm.
ABOVE: I love the close ups. . .the pattern of the flower is mesmerizing.
ABOVE: This is a nearly perfect-shaped flower with very short petals.
ABOVE: This guy is about 10' tall with long petals. . .and attracting bees.
ABOVE: This is one of my mutated varieties. It is about 6' tall with pointy, short petals.
ABOVE: Me in the middle of some of the taller flowers in front of the house today. One of those is going to top 12'. . .it is still growing and is already probably 11' (I'm 6' tall). See the green shoot heading toward the chimney. That will be the tallest this June as windy, stormy weather is likely to return some day soon. I have another batch heading skyward on the west side of the house. I have not yet planted alongside the garage near Felix and Jack's final resting places. Its too hot and dry to grow much today. I'll plant as soon as the weather turns more typically tropical.
FOR TODAY PHOTOS OF THE SANDHILL CRANE COLTs go to: PHILLIP's NATURAL WORLD. . . the other photos
