Snowy Sunset

Above: The Halifax River in Daytona Beach this afternoon. It was warm. . . mid 80°s F. (30°C.) when we flew over.

Above: If you click on the above image for a larger view. . . you'll see a whale in the far right hand bottom corner of the image. . . a few miles offshore of Daytona.

Above: Another view looking north from Broadway toward Ormond Beach. It was very smoky.

Above: Hundreds of planes at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport, the world's busiest.

By the time we got to Minneapolis the weather had changed drastically. Here as we approach Minneapolis from the south the sun sets over a frozen landscape.

It looked like the land of 10,000 frozen lakes this evening.

We continued on to Bozeman, Montana this evening, arriving around midnight local time. We immediately got lost and found that the GPS doesn't work correctly in the mountains. First thing tomorrow I'm buying a road map.

The rental car lot was covered with ice. A very pleasant change from hot, smoky Florida. It was odd, however, having to defrost the windows and getting all the ice off. I guess it took 15 minutes before we could safely drive.

There's not a lot of snow on the ground here in Bozeman. . . a few inches. Tomorrow we'll go to Big Sky and hopefully see more there. Big Sky is about 7,500 ft. Here in Bozeman we're about 5,000 ft.
