Dandelions, Coneflowers, and Lilies

Above: A wasp on a coneflower (Echinacea purpurea).

Above: lilies on the pond with reflections. The lilies are likely Nymphaea odorata or some closely related species.

Above: We have no shortage of these little bugs. . . a housefly (Musca domestica) in close-up.

Above: A dandelion seed (Taraxacum officinale F.H. Wigg.) on a leaf of one of the many Sunflower trees (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray. The sunflower trees are not affected by the brutal hot, dry weather that persists over the peninsula. . . making them a perfect invasive species.
