Disney Hollywood Lights

We spent an evening touring the Walt Disney World Hollywood Studio Christmas Lights

Disney likes to say this is the "happiest place on earth"

I'd have to argue that it is perhaps the most obnoxious place on earth. . .

Click on the images to enlarge. . . that's artificial snow falling from the tops of the buildings.

One could also call this the most crowded place on earth. . .

I liked a few of the smaller detail touches like this peace symbol in a window. . . the details were mostly lost in extreme noise and the pulsating throng of people being shoved along.

Another nice touch. . . a basketball was moving in and out of this hoop that was on a side street.  I took shelter from the ebbing hoard of humanity at this spot for a few minutes. . . trying to catch some fresh air.

. . . did I say the loudest place on earth?

How about the most expensive place on earth?  $18 to park, $79 entrance fee. . . $5 for a soda. . .

We went on complimentary tickets so I can't complain about the price. . .

More artificial snow emnating from the rooftop to the left.  It was a very warm weekend with temperatures in the 80°s F (27° C). . .so the snow didn't make it very far before melting. . . add to the temperature the fact that there were perhaps 10,000 people jammed into the streets below. . .and the snow didn't have a chance.

All of these lights were moving to music . . . and my cameras are a bit to sensitive for this type of photography. . . but you can get the idea of what it was like from these images.
