Great Horned Owl


A pair of Great Horned Owls (Bubo virginianus).  The female appears to
have a bloody nose (l).  They're nesting in a large Eastern
Red Cedar Trees (Juniperus virginiana L.).

Great Horned Owls have at least one owlet, born in late January.


Above and Below:  The male stands guard.



The female is a bit more plump and stocky
