These are the last of the Super Moon images for May. I compiled a lot of images trying to find that perfect shot of the Moon's perigee (the point at which it made it's closest approach to Earth).

The Moon appears differently depending on the camera settings.
I like putting some branches in the frame so there is some point of reference.
The camera then tries to focus on either Moon or branches. This (above) is one of my favorite shots.
The Moon was indeed bright. Here (above) it appears something like the sun in a 20 second exposure with a Queen Palm in the foreground. The orange haze toward the bottom of the image is the reflection of the lights of Orlando on the clouds.
When I'm out late at night snapping photos there are many animals around. Below, one of the many neighborhood black cats was sitting watching what I was doing, so I turned the camera on the cat for a short exposure. The fence lights glow bright. The house in the distance is much further away than this image intimates. The lens distorts distance.
Below: A recent Florida sunset.
Below: Another sunset with a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias).
IS FLORIDA'S
BIG DRY FINISHED?
Above and Below: Storm clouds in the area today. Unfortunately they delivered little rain. . . but just the presence of clouds was enough to make us very hopeful that the rainy season is upon us.
Below: The Climate Prediction Center is forecasting above normal precipitation for the Florida peninsula for the next 6-10 days. This is a good sign that, perhaps. . . just maybe. . . the long, brutal drought is slowly ending.
