The heat isn't limited to Florida, to our north the weather will turn increasingly hot and dry
In what has already been a warmer-and-drier-than-normal May across Florida, temperatures will take a notable turn hotter through the end of May.
High temperatures are already 5-10° F. above normal, generally in the mid-90°s across peninsular Florida.

A dome of very hot and very dry air builds over the southeast USA late May 2019. The high pressure dome is forecast to expand and grow in intensity (red color on map)
Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee to Pensacola and everywhere between will experiences highs in the upper 90°s to lower 100°s.
An anomalous dome of high pressure will strengthen and position itself over the entire southeast USA, promoting the hot, dry weather.

Every afternoon the weather is hotter and the lake level is lower as extreme evaporation has begun in response to the extremely hot and dry weather.
There won't be much relief in Florida lakes or at the beach as winds retreat to near calm by Memorial Day (May 27). On more remote beaches (like Canaveral National Seashore in Volusia and Brevard Counties) beach goers might find conditions intolerably hot and buggy. When seabreeze winds die down swarms of biting flies and mosquitoes migrate seaward, descending on unsuspecting beach goers.
