Today this surfer -- and no one else -- helped me create these images that more resemble the 1960s than 21st century Florida. These images were created along Canaveral National Seashore about 10 miles north of Cape Canaveral.
While it appears idyllic. It was very hot and uncomfortable. Ok. . .that's an understatement. It was blazing hot and humid.
ABOVE: Two Brown Pelicans (
Pelecanus occidentalis) help frame this image. The Brown Pelican is the smallest of the eight species of pelican, although it is a large bird in nearly every other regard. It weighs around 10 pounds and has a wingspan approaching 5-feet.
