Reunions, IKEA and Bears

Yesterday we traveled across Florida at breakneck speed to see my college friend Terry. She lives near Tampa on one of the Keys in Tampa Bay. She is camera shy so I won't be posting any photos of the reunion here. It was our 30th year. Wow.

ABOVE: Molly N. and Oskar Gold at a train station in Paris. Me in the middle. I believe the year was 1979. I was 11 years old. Right? If anyone sees this and recognizes Oskar Gold, please contact me at the email address above. I would like to make contact with Oskar.

BELOW: Me, yesterday, at the entrance to Imperial Key where Terry R. lives. I thought it was so Tampa-retirement-land how they had their own homemade Christmas signs attached to light poles and street signs. . . so I had to have a photo.

BELOW: Me again, with Judy M. (in sunglasses) and two individuals whose names escape me. Sailing in the Greek Isles in April 1980.

BELOW: While racing back across Florida we caught a glimpse of the glittering Tampa skyline.

BELOW: We stopped at the Mall at Millennia near Orlando and the giant IKEA. It looks so odd the IKEA name and Swedish colors with palm trees. This massive store is 293,000 square feet. Its all a bit overwhelming. I guess there were perhaps 5,000 people inside. I was looking for a new desk for the lake house but we had to abort before buying anything. I needed to find a way away from all those people.

When we got home there was lots of disarray outside. I had locked up all the outdoor animals before we left the house around (11:00 am). 8 hours later something was amiss. This morning I discovered what it was. . . BELOW: More bears have been visiting. This is a fresh track out back. The bear was probably a juvenile. His paw a bit bigger than my hand.
