Pre Turkey Day Photos 2010

We settled on a 9 1/2-foot Fraser Fir (Abies fraseri (Pursh) Poir. ) for the Christmas tree this year. It is actually decked out and ready a day early. The ceiling is 10-feet so I had to take a little off the top to fit the angel topper on the tree. That's a flying, lighted pig poking his head from behind the tree.

I put 700 multi-colored LEDs on. . . and every ornament we had. The backside is a little sparse with ornaments but I figure no one will notice. Ramone and Dell-roy have taken this as their new home (under the tree). ABOVE: Ramone stakes out his spot.

As it is 81 F. (27 C.) and to be warmer tomorrow we opted for fake fire on a tv set in the fireplace. The candy-striped lights hanging from the mantel are motion-activated LEDs that play holiday songs.

The tree kind of dwarfs my 6-foot tall DVD cases. The furniture is still covered. We will uncover it at the last minute before guests arrive.

BELOW: Someone's Christmas present is hanging by the tree. . . already framed a month early. Perhaps my heart was slowing me down before? It was perhaps 100,000 stitches. I found I was able to concentrate again beginning in September and managed to finish it before Halloween.
