We began the major winter-laying-concrete project yesterday.
Above: I was relatively perky at the start of the project.
We had some tools to work with.
Left-Right: John Deere lawn tractor with trailer, concrete mixing wheel barrow, electric concrete mixer (red), pathway frame.
Me, wearing every possible brace to protect against injury.
20 x 4 feet complete.
End of the day writing my name in the concrete.
The pathway will circle the pond 4' wide, then go from pond to garage (about 100' x 4'). . .then around to the west side of house, about 120' x 4'. If we can maintain this progress per week it will all be complete before really warm weather returns in March.
The biggest job is moving the concrete, 12 bags/trip from store to house. The truck is rated 1.5 ton . . .so 12 bags plus me is about its limit. This completed section was the product of 20 bags of concrete.
